Bob Cohen, Ph.D.
President and CEO
Bob Cohen has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Scarborough Research since 1993 and is responsible for the overall direction of the company. Under his leadership, Scarborough has grown from a newspaper measurement service into a multi-faceted consumer research firm, whose services are used by over 3,500 marketers, media companies and agencies across the United States for shopping, media and lifestyle insights about American consumers.
Bob has been in consumer and media research his entire career. Prior to joining Scarborough, he served as managing partner of Yankelovich Partners, directing its West Coast consulting activities. From 1989 to 1992, he served as Director of Marketing Strategy at the Los Angeles Times. Prior to this engagement, Bob held various research positions at Yankelovich Skelly & White, Warner Amex Satellite Entertainment and J. Walter Thompson.
In 1982, Bob earned a Doctorate in Sociology from Columbia University, with a focus on mass communications and public opinion research. He has assisted and taught courses in research methods, mass media and public opinion at Columbia University, New York University and the New School for Social Research.
Bob is president of the Market Research Council and a past chair of the Council of American Survey Research Organizations (CASRO). He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Marketing Research Institute International. Bob frequently presents at industry conferences across the United States and he has authored various research papers throughout his career.
Bob resides with his wife Melanie and daughter Maris in Waccabuc (Westchester County), New York. He enjoys American history and travel. |
