How do I install PRIME NExT on a network?

Please refer to the Loading Instructions page for step-by-step directions on a network installation.

How do I set up new users?

Step A: Create new folders for each user in the following folders:

1. Primenxt\htmlout
   (for example, create a new folder called “janedoe”)
2. Primenxt\save\private
   (for example, create a new folder called “janedoe”)
   Note: Generally, clients create folders with user’s name or initials

Step B: Create new User ID’s from the PRIME NExT software:

1. Launch the PRIME NExT software by clicking on the PRIME NExT icon on the desktop
2. Click on the Studies button located at the top of the screen
3. Type the word “Default” as the User ID to log into the program
4. Press Enter
5. Click on the Tools button located at the top of the screen. This will bring you to the User Maintenance tab.
6. Change the Output path to point to the new folder created in primenxt\htmlout location (for example, \primenxt\Save\Htmlout\janedoe)
7. Change the Private Save path to point to the new folder created in the Primenxt\Save\Private location (for example, \primenxt\save\private\janedoe)
8. Click Save User Information
9. Click on Studies button and type new user ID to make sure user can log in with their unique ID.

Note: Repeat steps 1-8 for multiple users.

How do I install data?

1. Insert the data CD into the CD-Drive and the install process will begin automatically.
   Note: If a message appears “Error - Unable to locate primenxt.ini” appears, change the ‘C’ to the network drive letter where the primenxt folder resides (for example, X:\primenxt)
   
2. Click NEXT to close/stop all running applications.
   
3. Click YES  to the license agreement.
   Note: If your data CD contains multiple studies, select each market from the displayed list.
   
4. Click FINISH after data install completes.

I get so many CDs. What's the difference in the color of the sleeves?

Yellow = NSI and Prime Point data
Green = Syndicated data
Blue = Software
Purple = National Data
White = Custom studies
